Businesses are predicted to spend $8 billion in 2016 on social media marketing

Businesses that are targeting local prospects will increase their social media marketing within the next four years.  According to a study by Borrell Associates local business investments for social media will grow to nearly $8 billion in 2016, compared to $1.1 billion that was spent in 2011.

Social media marketing helps reach consumers that check their mobile devices more often than other devices.  Smartphone and tablet use is more common and consumers are accessing their Facebook and Twitter accounts via these devices allowing information to be accesses 24/7 by consumers.

There is no hiding it, social media is transforming businesses way of marketing, if it hasn’t already.  Have you taken advantage of these easy to use and extremely beneficial marketing tools?  If not, it might be a good idea to plan it into 2012’s budget!
